Medical Gas Credentialing Student Protection and Disclosures

Purpose and Mission

To serve medical gas professionals in their pursuit for education regarding the design, installation, service, and all-around knowledge when it comes to medical gas systems.

Course Listing and Requirements

ASSE 6005

Prerequisite: None
Credential: 6005 Generalist (Exam Required)
Course Hours: 24
Objective: To provide general medical gas knowledge meeting the requirements of Series 6000 Standard #6005. Exam will be 50 questions with a minimum of 75% for passing.
Recertification: Latest edition of NFPA 99 with written exam including a minimum of 25 questions with a minimum of 70% for passing
Cost: $750 per student
Renewal Cost: $250

 

ASSE 6010

Prerequisite: 4 years of documented practical experience in the field of installation of plumbing or mechanical piping systems.
Credential: 6010 Installer (Exam Required and practical braze to be completed and tested)
Course Hours: 32
Objective: To provide knowledge on how to install a medical gas system meeting the requirements of Series 6000 standard #6010. Exam will be 100 questions with a minimum of 75% for passing.
Recertification: Minimum of 4-hour training course to subsequent editions of NFPA 99 with written exam including a minimum of 25 questions with a minimum of 70% for passing.
Cost: $950 per student
Renewal: $250

ASSE 6020

Prerequisite: 2 years documented practical experience
Credential: 6020 Medical Gas Inspector (Exam Required)
Course Hours: 24
Objective: To provide knowledge on the inspection of a medical gas system meeting the requirements of Series 6000 standard #6020. Exam will be 100 questions with a minimum of 75% for passing.
Recertification: Minimum of 4-hour training course to subsequent editions of NFPA 99 with written exam including a minimum of 25 questions with a minimum of 70% for passing.
Cost: $900
Renewal: $250

ASSE 6040

Prerequisite: 1-year minimum experience in the maintenance of medical gas and vacuum systems.
Credential: 6040 Medical Gas Maintenance Personnel (Exam Required)
Course Hours: 24 Hours
Objective: To provide knowledge on the servicing of a medical gas system meeting the requirements of Series 6000 standard #6040. Exam will be 100 questions with a minimum of 75% for passing.
Recertification: A course covering ASSE 6040 and maintenance related sections of NFPA 99 pertaining to medical gas and vacuum systems. A written exam is required with a minimum of 25 questions with a minimum of 70% for passing.
Cost: $900
Renewal: $250

Refund Policy/Withdrawal Policy

100% refund for any reason 24 hours’ notice before start of class.

i. (1) All refunds shall be paid within 30 days upon written notification from a student of cancellation or withdrawal; and

ii. (2) Students receiving benefits from federal programs shall be subject to federal refund policies, rules and regulations.

The Facility Safety Plan

Emergency exit-(1) exit in front of building and (1) exit in rear of building by classroom.

The Student Complaint Process

If a student should have a grievance about the school, an instructor, or the program, the student shall formally submit such grievance in writing to the School Administrator. The grievance should include specifics about the claim and if possible include the date and location in which it took place. With the assurance that we will take your complaint seriously and do what is within our capability to correct the situation so you are satisfied.

1. In the event that a solution cannot be reached between the student and MGC, the student may file a written complaint with the New Hampshire Department of Education, Office of Career School Licensing at 101 Pleasant Street Concord NH 03301, or by phone 603-271-6443.

Transfer of Credit Policy

1. Student must have current copy of existing ASSE 6000 credentials.

2. Student must be current and in good standing.

3. Student must provide a photo using JPEG and passport quality.

4. Student shall pay a (1) time migration fee of $250 which includes a new ID card.

5. Student shall furnish a copy of a QB-484 brazing certificate or credential card from another comparable and acceptable MGC.

6. Student shall complete a MGC application.
